So, I have an idea. It's really simple actually; the reader is kidnapped by Kevin. At first she's terrified, but gradually starts to understand him more, and eventually cares for him and doesn't really want to leave him.

Casey/Dennis, princess/knight AU

Dennis is a knight and Casey is the misfit princess he's sworn to protect.

Possible plot: Her uncle murdered her father for the throne and he's abusive to Casey; people know but nobody says anything because he's the king now. Casey is pretty sure of what her uncle did, but can't prove anything. Dennis is a disgraced knight, and it's a joke to Casey's uncle that he assigned Dennis to guard her.

Casey/Kevin monster hunter AU

From: (Anonymous)
After witnessing her father be killed by a monster when she was just a child, Casey's uncle takes her in. He turns out to be a different monster all together, one of the human variety. After suffering years of abuse, she sets out on a journey to find all the spooky creatures of the night, and put an end to the suffering they cause. Young girls have been going missing in Philadelphia, their bodies being found torn up and half eaten. The authorities believe it must be some kind of wild animal stalking the outskirts of the city. Casey knows better though. She finds the monster doing these terrible things, but also finds that he may not be entirely responsible for his actions. She is faced with the moral dilemma of sacrificing an innocent man to protect the city, or trying to find another way to keep everyone alive.

Bonus points for Kevin feeling incredibly guilty.
Bonus bonus points for Kevin and Casey bonding because of their abusive childhoods.

Casey/Dennis Slice of Life AU

From: (Anonymous)
AU like one of those contemporary angst filled Sundance films where Casey is a high school student who makes friends with the schools angry and strange maintenance man, Dennis. Also I could see Dennis being suspected as a creep, watching the cheerleaders practicing while he's repairing some bleachers. Casey is still living with her uncle and being continually abused. Dennis, knowing how terrible abuse is but also not wanting to get too involved, begrudgingly helps Casey find the strength to tell someone. He makes her feel like a person again. Casey gives Dennis a reason to see there can be happiness for him, that not everything is so bad. Cue a metric TON of angst, because underage, age difference, csa themes, UST, unrequited feeling, maybe Dennis losing it and almost beating the shit out of her uncle. Dennis feeling sick with himself over all the filthy dreams and fantasies he's having about Casey, knowing the things she's gone through, what her uncle's done. But what he doesn't know, is Casey is having vivid dirty dreams about him too. Casey being so confused about her feelings for Dennis, but at the same time so desperate for real affection. She knows he wants her, it's not hard to tell, but it's the first time she's felt anything for someone and she doesn't want it ruined.

I was listening to a few songs when I thought of this, so if you want the vibe I was feeling check out Let Me Down Easy by Max Frost, Summer Skeletons by Radical Face, and Hello My Old Heart by the Oh Hellos.

Casey is turned by Dennis.

Re: Casey/Dennis, vampire AU

From: (Anonymous)
There’s a pretty, young girl sitting in front of him on an dusty, grafitti covered bus on his way home.

Dennis is standing, yellow cloth a barrier between his skin and the rail that keeps him upright. He’s had very little luck tonight. Most would call him a picky eater, although if you had to closely inhale the scent of greasy fries or experience the sharp, bitter aftertaste of perfume while eating you’d feel nauseous after a while too.

But the girl in front of him does not smell of either of those things, or anything else unpleasant. Her skin glows golden warmth under the sunset, brightens her silhouette like an angel sent just for him. A simple, studded earring draws attention to her long, unblemished neck, dark hair cascading down her back. Dennis recalls a woman earlier this evening in fit shape with enticing curves, but sadly she was being covered in hickeys by her boyfriend despite the public park’s disapproving faces, including his own.

Of course, all this talk of hunting prey is only in his head. No, Dennis has been surviving off of the blood he gets from an old friend of his in New York, a fashion designer named Barry who comes across the most diverse and strangest people in his work- like Hollywood doctors who dole out blood to their kind like meds to strung out actors. If it wasn’t for Barry and other generous people of their kind then Dennis would have had to resort to raiding hospitals or, God forbid, the zoo. Except Barry's supplier was dry right now. His repulsion to unclean, unworthy skin of most today is only part of it, he also finds the intimate gesture of drinking from a live human to be distracting to the point he’d end up draining them completely. Not that he doesn’t have self control but he didn’t feel confident all the time in using it if he were to take a girl. Besides, killing wasn’t as easy as it was for their kind back then, especially when the deed left their evidence all over the victim.

Her phone buzzes and takes him out of his musings, she stares down blankly at it before powering it down. It has to be a sign. His mouth is suddenly dry and he’s so thirsty. The urge to take her was strong, to feel skin against skin after so long.

He tries to avert his eyes and recall his last experience at this game of feeding, the woman crying all over him as he attempted to feed, her hair doused with too much hair spray. But this girl teases him, her neck craning as her gaze settles on him before looking out the window, nibbling on her bottom lip. He inwardly groans. The girl stands when the bus slows to a stop. His tongue darts out to his own bottom lip as he watches her walk off.

After a moment’s hesitation Dennis follows her.

He waits for the number of stores and wide, open streets to shape into homes and trees and thick bushes. Waits for the crowds to thin into nothing and streetlamps to flicker on. Waits for the sky to turn dark and the perfect opening.

Waits for the girl to walk faster when she realizes he’s following her. Get her blood pumping before he attacks.

She swiftly turns corner and Dennis picks up his pace.

She doesn’t make it a third down the street before he grabs her by the waist, effortlessly picking her up and dragging them behind a dark house with a for sale sign placed in front.

She stumbles back when he lets her go, face white with fear but she doesn’t scream. Why doesn’t she scream? Not that he wants her to, but he doesn’t want to cover her mouth like he’s doing something shameful. He’d rather not think about that if this will be his last time indulging.

They stare at each other in silence for a long time, memorizing the other’s face, slowly becoming resigned to what was about to take place. His long since unused fangs extract and he tongues them, her eyes dart down and widens at the sight.

“Don’t do that,” Dennis says when she looks down, “don’t look away, you're not imagining things, this is real. What’s your name?” he asks solemnly, unbuttoning the top few buttons of his shirt.

“Casey,” she says shakily, a single tear rolling down her reddened cheek. “Casey Cooke.”

“Casey,” he breathes out, eyes fixed on her neck. “There’s no need to be afraid." He gestures to her chest. "Remove your shirt. Please.”

She does, dropping the plaid shirt on the ground. The black, long sleeve she had under revealing only a tad more skin.

Dennis swallows nervously. “That too,” he whispers.

Casey pulls it over her head only to reveal another shirt that, thankfully, dips lower than the others at the neckline, a flimsy white thing that reveals a black camisole underneath.

Dennis sighs shakily, chest rising up and down faster. He really shouldn’t, he tells himself. But she’s right there and she already knows it’s over for her. So beautiful and soft looking and accepting of her fate. She doesn’t move, even when her eyes anxiously fixes on his lips. None of his past victims never noticed his fangs until they were already clamped around their throats. But he wanted to take his time with her, she was worthy.

“You are…” Dennis stops, shakes his head in awe. He crowds her further back into the yard. She stiffens when his hand settles on her hip, the other pushing her hair back. She looks him in they eyes even when fingers tilt her head sideways and he admires her for it. Her pulse beats rapidly under his thumb, a sob chokes out from her throat.

Dennis moves his hand behind her head to keep her still, inches closer to caress his lips up her neck and savor this moment. “This will only take a minute,” he murmurs before sinking his teeth into warm, soft skin.

Casey quickly reaches for his jacket collar, whimpering as her knees give out. Dennis bends her back almost as if they were in the middle of an intimate dance number instead of the backyard of a vacant, suburban home.

Her skin breaks and a rush of ecstasy flows through him as the first wave of blood hits him, floods his mouth and runs down his throat. Fangs retracting, Dennis sucks like a dying man in the desert, wrapping his arms around her waist until their bodies are flushed together. She tastes much sweeter than he imagined, and not just her blood but her fresh, clean skin as he laps his tongue to prevent a single drop from spilling. His insides sing in rejoice. His head feels clearer. Hunger and urge dissipating. Her skin is hot and smooth and he splays a hand underneath her shirt.

Casey doesn’t put up a fight as most do, almost embracing him back as her breaths become quicker and shorter. It’s almost as if she let herself be caught, not wishing to go wherever she was headed. He becomes gentler in his ministrations, not wanting to hurt her but lull her into a sleep-like state. He shivers as her hands move over him, it’s been so long since anyone’s touched him and he can convince himself it’s out of understanding rather than fear. His fingers run through her hair and he grips it, tilting her head at an angle that gives release to more warm liquid and he moans. Drags them down to the ground where he pulls her onto his lap. She still doesn’t scream, panting hot and heavy against his skin, lips ghosting across his cheek as he moves her. Eventually, her arms slide down from his shoulders and hang limply at her sides while he takes his fill. None of her should go to waste and he knows it’s wrong but he can’t stop.

Her blood begins to thin and spurt out in longer intervals and his chest aches at the loss. Dennis reluctantly pulls back with a groan, fishing out a yellow cloth from his pocket to wipe the blood from his chin.

Slowly, he comes into himself again, bowing his forehead against hers as he pants. He looks down at her and instantly regrets it.

She stares up at him unblinkingly, eyes half lidded and struggling pitifully for breath. Her once pink skin now a gray pallor and turning cold and stiff beneath him. And now he’s alone again and she’ll disappear forever, her face eventually fading along with all the other memories - some wholly unpleasant and painful compared to this wonderful one she’d given him tonight.

Dennis really doesn’t want her to go. Panics at the thought.

Bringing his wrist up to his mouth, he bites down without thinking any more of his actions and consequences. “I am going to offer you something I’ve never offered to anyone else before,” he tells her, voice sounding distant to his own ears, her blood rushing through his ears.

Casey’s eyes lazily meets his, lashes fluttering as she fights to remain conscious.

“You will be something far greater and more powerful than you’ve ever known.” He situates his wrist between her unmoving lips, letting gravity do the work she can’t.

Dennis watches with a mixture of relief, nervousness, and excitement as life comes back to her cheeks and her skin warms under him. He sees the spark in her eyes before they close and she sucks greedily, fingers clamping around his arm. He allows this to go on for a few minutes before gently wrenching his wrist from her and waits for his blood to fully take effect.

With shaking arms, she pushes herself up a bit and looks up at him with big, round eyes, lips parted confusedly. “Why did you do that?”

Dennis isn’t sure how to respond to that so soon, his entire day doing a complete 180 all because of an impulse. But as he looks down at her he can’t say he regrets it.

Casey shakily rises on her feet and Dennis does the same, but she stands solidly on her own two feet without his assistance.

“Let’s go,” he tells her.

Casey leads the way.

Under his skin, he can feel it. A prickling awareness that the moon is waxing. It's a feeling he can never scrub away, despite the urge.

It's coming -- he's sick inside with dread, knowing the chaos that awaits, inevitable and eternal, every month like clockwork. The rest of the time, he tries to stay neat, clean, orderly. Under control. In a few days, he'll be helpless under the inexorable pull of the moon.

As She rises in her white and perfect glory, round and full in the ink-black sky, he walks through the silent field, and drops to his knees as he can't keep upright any longer. He frantically unbuttons his shirt, casts it to the grass; he knows he'll be upset to find it wet with dew and stained out here later, but right now he's less and less inclined to care about any of that as the seconds rapidly pass. At least he thought to leave his glasses inside.

He's giving himself over, slowly but surely, his breaths coming faster and harder. He feels Her light bathing his bare skin, feels his mouth changing, his teeth growing larger, his muscles painfully expanding.

But it's good, his blood sings with it, he tosses his head back and howls and as his thoughts streamline into those of an animal, a beast, he feels wild and free and pure. Glorious.

He throws the last of the food to the ground; she's struggling to get away, trying to crawl, and he digs his teeth into her leg, relishing her cry as he tastes blood once more. But, he decides, he wants something else from this one, the last -- he doesn't need this last one, They are powerful and perfect already and something in him -- someone -- wants to see her pure (impure) unworthy (beautiful) bareness, exposed, helpless, he just wants to touch, that's all, just wants to see -- With a hard yank, he turns her onto her back, rips her long-sleeved shirt with a loud tearing sound like it's nothing, rips her last shirt to leave her bare and squirming beneath him, chest heaving with panicked breaths, and then he sees the raised scars decorating her skin like jewelry, like a belt. He bends to place his mouth to them, to kiss those above her hips, reverent, feeling her shaking under him, her terror palpable, her skin hot and cold at once. Her hands are free, yet she doesn't stop him. "Fear nothing," he tells her, kissing his way over her stomach, up to her breasts, to the bumped scars over her collarbone. He looks into her wide, wide eyes. "You are perfect. The broken are the more evolved."

Claire/Dennis [Claire's the only gal who's had no fic moments with Dennis! :)]

For a moment, Claire sat frozen in horror on one cot, too shaken to even glance at Casey on the other. Until she leapt up and began pounding on the heavy metal door.

She pounded and shouted until her palms stung and her throat began to grow hoarse.

I choose you first. What the hell was that supposed to mean?

Kidnapping, sexual assault…these were things that happened in movies, sure. But in real life? How could this actually be happening?

Claire’s thoughts were cut short as the door opened and their abductor shoved Marcia back inside with an agonized cry of disgust.

Thank God. There was no way she was out there for long enough for anything really bad to have happened, right?

Trembling, Marcia grasped onto Claire’s hands as both girls struggled to keep tears at bay.

“He wanted me to dance with him…” was all Marcia managed. Her stockings were soaked.

Casey just stared at the two of them, chest heaving.

Skip ahead 36 hours and their situation had grown even more bizarre. Claire still marveled at how that was even possible.

So this nutcase apparently thought that dressing up and acting like a perverted man, a British woman and now a little boy – would what, scare them? Confuse them?

What made matters more frustrating was how close Casey had seemed to come with convincing the nine-year-old persona to let them out. Claire still couldn’t believe how close Casey had dared get to the guy…

And now he’d come back. Shit. She was so close! Too close to give up now!

Heaving herself up with her hands, Claire’s grip slipped a bit. With one more burning pull-up, she finally managed to make it through the opening in the drywall ceiling.

Damn, she’d never felt luckier to own high heels. Though what she really wanted to do was throw her heel at that freak out there who was currently whining like a little kid to be let in.

The first realization Claire had when she began crawling through the dark space of the heating ducts was how incredibly closed in she felt. But this was no time for claustrophobia. There was an end in sight, there had to be. There always was. They would make it out of this, she would see to that.

She’d get out, find help and then they’d all be safe. She’d be home to her Dad in no time.

All these fleeting thoughts took a backseat when the sound of her own ragged breathing was joined by a sound below. Some sort of steam room just beneath the next opening in the heating shaft.

Frantically pulling off the metal grid, Claire dropped down as gingerly as possible onto the ground below. Thankfully, she hadn’t far too fall and began racing as fast as possible in the opposite direction of the angry voice she could already hear behind her.

Why hadn’t she crawled further while still in the ducts??

“Hey!” he yelled. So he was back to being an adult man for the moment.

Claire had never run so fast in her life. Turning a slight corner, she charged into the nearest of a set of lockers and shut the door as quietly as she could.

As she held a hand over her mouth to quiet her breathing, Claire suddenly questioned her decision to stop running. She supposed she subconsciously feared he’d catch up to her or that she’d come up against another locked door or a dead end.

Too late now.

Their kidnapper strode past her locker, leaving everything deathly quiet for several seconds. Claire still didn’t risk removing her hand from her mouth.

She couldn’t help wondering if perhaps there was an exit up ahead that she’d missed when a pair of piercing blue eyes shocked her to the core.

How had he known it was this locker? Just how good was his hearing?

“Please, step out of the locker,” he sounded calm enough. For now, better do as he says.

Once again, Claire tried not to think of what he’d done with her father.

As slowly as possible, she opened the metal door and stepped out. She was fairly certain they could both hear her heartbeat at this point.

He didn’t seem to have a gun or knife of any kind, though that hardly mattered.

“You should trick children. That shows who you are.”

Words were enough.

“You’re sweater, it’s-it’s dirty, it’s filthy…remove it.”

Going into autopilot mode at this point, Claire ignored the tears pricking at her eyes and gingerly removed her sweater. The air, humid as it was, set the hairs on her arms at attention.

Claire carefully dropped the article of clothing at his feet and crossed her arms over torso.

She’d never felt so out of control – the way he was taking in her body with his blue gaze scared her more than anything she’d ever experienced.

That was when survival instinct hit. The fear-induced molasses in her brain switched to last-resort mode as she made the decision to do something that would have disgusted her in any other situation.

Except that she could see a door to his left just a few yards over. If she could just reach the door...

The man before her sighed heavily and ran a hand over his cropped hair. “I’m trying to be good,” he looked at her almost matter-of-factly.

“It’s fine, really. This is all such a…welcome break from routine,” Claire was really grasping at anything he might want to hear. “We – I’m really sorry I ran. I don’t know what I was thinking. You’re clearly not gonna hurt us. I was just afraid for my dad…when he didn’t come back…”

“I didn’t hurt him,” the man cut in.

Claire didn’t let the relief distract her too noticeably. “What’s your name?”

The man’s tongue darted out to run along his lower lip before he averted his gaze again.

“Mmm, Dennis,” Claire was popular at school, sure, but had little idea how to flirt with a fully-grown man. Slowly approaching him but careful not to touch him too soon and risk a negative reaction, Claire pushed her exposed torso out of mind.

She’d acted in theatre where she’d even kissed boys – all make believe. She could do this. He was clearly nervous and she could use that, as long as she didn’t push him too far.

As long as she kept him here, they had all the time in the world.

“What’s it like? Living down here? You live alone?” she probed gently.

“W-well, no,” Dennis stammered, “We all have each other. The others…”

Others…the woman and the boy?

Claire had heard of people with multiple personalities, but figured it was all more hyped up by Hollywood. Not something that turned up on your own doorstep.

“I’ve never looked forward to having roommates in college. They can be so annoying. Always making a mess and all…I understand why you might be bored of them.”

“Not roommates,” retorted Dennis gruffly, “Not here to talk about that.”

Claire had to step up her game. He was still slowly backing up and they’d turned left now, edging closer to the door up ahead.

She just had to switch their position, so that she was closest to the exit.

Ignoring the rushing in her ears, she continued, “You seem…tense.”

They’d reached about a foot away from the threshold now. He kept eyeing her chest.

“Here. It’s okay, I promise not to touch your skin,” Claire reached up and slowly began to rub his shoulders.

Apparently her nearly bare torso was having a wild effect on him because he actually closed his eyes and let this happen. Claire took the opportunity to move swiftly behind him, continuing to knead his flesh through his button-down.

Ever so carefully, she removed one hand to push on the door. There was no handle on their side, so one push would tell if it was locked or not. It was now or never.

She had to at least try.

“That’s good…” she nearly whispered, not far from his left ear.

Leaning close to him to maintain contact and not arouse suspicion before he opened his eyes, Claire pressed the palm of her other hand against the door’s surface.

“Good boy.”

Although she’d been keeping watch on his face, Claire let out a petrified yelp when Dennis’s eyes sprung open and he grabbed her roughly by the hair, tossing her to the floor.

As Claire struggled to register her surroundings through the fog of shock and panic, Dennis removed his glasses. He frowned down at her as she scooted backward across the cold floor.

“You’re not supposed to say things like that. You’re not supposed to be like her. I don’t want to play right now.”

Damn it, the little kid was back.

Wait – but that would mean he wasn’t as strong as the Dennis guy. She still had a chance!

“Mr. Dennis wants his turn again,” was all the man before her said. “You shouldn’t have called me.”

Called him?

“I’m going now.”

Claire nearly sighed with relief. He was leaving. Could she finally see what was on the other side of the door when he went out?

Then he readjusted his glasses and Claire’s stomach dropped.

I'd love to read something about Barry, I really liked his character, even though we haven't seen much of him. I'd prefer a story without dark content (kidnapping etc.), but angst and hurt-comfort is alright.

Bonus point: happy end
Bonus point 2: Dennis makes an appearence

Barry is gay in canon, so I've written a little dabble here about how his escapades were likely the healthiest Kevin et. al have yet experienced:

Barry enjoyed being in the light – he truly did. Ever since Kevin had consensually given him agency, Barry was finally able to realize the artistic passion that Hedwig and Kevin himself had long remained ashamed of.

For years, their mother had scoffed at Kevin’s passion for drawing – fashion design having been totally out of the question. Art was an ‘effeminate’ hobby and not something that could ever make any money.

Such was another brilliant aspect to Dr. Fletcher – her relentless confidence in Barry’s clothing designs. He’d never had anyone compliment his sketches before.

That was, until Karl came along.

“Which line do you design for?”

The System was thankful that Barry was in the light at the moment or many of the others may have jumped at how quickly the young man had appeared by their table.

Barry smiled up at him. He’d chosen the seat by the window as always, but he also preferred the chance to meet someone new and even show off his work.

“Thinking of starting my own,” replied Barry with a polite grin. “Do you design for anyone?”

“Used to design sets for a few travel groups on Broadway. Then my contract ended. Now I just design locally for Stagecrafters Theater.”

“Mm, I’ve heard of it,” Barry hummed. Did this count as that café small talk his mother was always complaining about from men? “You miss New York?”

“Sometimes, but you know…it’s quaint here.” Karl grinned. “I’m Karl.”

Karl took a seat across from Barry. That was the first time the System had actually had struck the fancy of a fellow young(ish) person.

They kept meeting there as well, each morning at ten before heading to work. Just to discuss – life. Even Barry, with his optimistic demeanor, had to wonder what was in it for Karl. It wasn’t as if he were being paid, like Dr. Fletcher – and even then, the psychologist’s investment in her patient extended beyond money to research.

What had Karl to research?

Fortunately, once Barry opened up to Dr. Fletcher about these little outings a week later, the wool was promptly removed.

“He seems to like you, Barry,” she stated plainly but with a gleaming smile.

That had made even Barry hesitate. Surely, he’d realized that had been a possibility on some level, but…did men really just pick you up in the café, like his mother had always mentioned?

More importantly, where would it go from there? Could he simply have fun with Karl? What did fun even mean? Did Karl have some ulterior motive?

Could Barry keep the others at bay long enough to test the waters with this…’dating game’?

After about a month, they went out to dinner.

Barry was nervous, of course. And yet, he felt oddly warm inside. He’d become fascinated by Karl’s angular facial features, his slight stubble, his hazel eyes that caught the light in just the right way…

“Everything okay?” Karl asked with a hint of mirth.

Barry broke out of his reverie. Whether due to the wine or his inner fervor kicking into high gear, he didn’t care.

“You have the…nicest eyes.”

Karl seemed a bit taken aback, before his smile broadened even further.

“Wowwww,” he breathed, “I’m so glad you broke the ice. Because your eyes are actually what struck me about you. If I’m being honest…they’re bluer than any of the actors I’ve ever worked around.”

He shared his mother’s blue eyes…but enough of that, for Christ’s sake.

He needed a distraction. One where he didn’t have to think of his mother or women at all – just this man before him. It didn’t matter where it went – time to live in the moment for once in his life.

“Let’s get out of here,” Barry stood up and grabbed his scarf. Hedwig, stay put. Don’t you dare come out.

He could do this.

There was no response from their inner child. He supposed it made sense. No woman to impress or please, no Hedwig.

Fortunately, they hadn’t gone to eat far from the zoo, where Barry pulled Karl almost roughly behind one of the brick walls and…

Hugged him.

Really, just hugged him. He froze before he could go any further. Not a Hedwig or Dennis might emerge frozen, but something was keeping him from going further.

Perhaps he just needed a prompt from Karl to confirm this was something both parties desired.

Grasping fingers in his slowly growing hair, Karl answered Barry’s question.

Soon enough, Karl’s hands dropped from the other’s closely shorn hair and entangled in his scarf, lightly tugging in a way that drove Barry mad.

Where had these feelings been hiding? He knew he’s always preferred men, but from afar…

It was Barry who snuck his tongue between Karl’s lips. He smelt of mint and pine. Intoxicating cologne of some kind.

Hands and legs were everywhere. For the first time, Barry was grinding on someone – and he couldn’t believe this other human being was actually treating him with desire and passion. No ridicule or condescension.

It was unbelievably hot.

Then Karl dropped to his knees and Barry’s ever muscle was on fire. On some level, he realized it probably couldn’t last. Then again, what really does last?

Barry could barely control his breathing or hip movement as Karl did what no one had done before, grasping fistfuls of Barry’s jacket to hold his waist still, leaving him with no choice but to experience the sensation.

Live for the moment. Was this final thought before all senses exploded in unbridled ecstasy.

They continued like this for a few nights a week. Just enjoying each other’s company, either at Karl’s or at Barry’s. No labels, no questions asked.

At this stage, that was exactly what Barry needed. No one to disappoint if this was all just fleeting.

Barry initially had to overcome a hump to realize he actually enjoyed returning the favor for Karl – no vivid childhood memories of forced pleasure giving surfaced.

He liked pleasing Karl – and he loved it when Karl took charge.

In fact, he loved it a bit too much.

It was a Tuesday in early August 2014 when Karl rang the doorbell to Barry’s flat. The young set designer hadn’t wanted to tell Barry over the phone. His contract had ended early, and he’d snagged another back in New York.

All guilty thoughts he may have had were replaced with surprise when Barry opened the door.

The first word that came to Karl’s mind was clean.

Not that Barry didn’t have excellent hygiene and impeccable taste in both clothing and aftershave, but this was…on a whole other level.

No scarf or cap and…

“Barry, when did you get glasses?”

“We can’t see each other anymore,” was all Barry said.

“Mm, I actually came here to talk to you about that,” Karl attempted a smile to ease the awkwardness just a bit, “I wanted to see if we could spend some time together before I have to leave – I got another contract in New York. This one ended here.”

“New York,” the city’s name sounded as if it left a bad taste in Barry’s mouth. “I’m from there originally.”

“You never mentioned…”

“Anyway, as I said, good luck. I can’t see you anymore. It was…something new to try. And I’ve decided it’s not for me.”

“Really? So you’re okay with the New York part, I’m relieved. But what’s not for you? If you mean what we’ve been doing…?”

Dennis didn’t like the conniving gleam in the man’s eyes as he extended a hand toward his face. He caught his wrist swiftly and Karl withdrew slightly.

“You sure seemed like you liked it,” was all he could manage at first. “Are you trying to tell me that was an experiment? Because I’m sorry to tell ya, but it’d be a riot to see you with a girl…”

“I’ve had a difficult day at work. Leave now, please. We can’t have distractions. From men or women. We needed what you provided, but it ran its course.”

We? Barry and himself, Karl supposed.

As Karl descended the apartment steps into the balmy evening, Dennis felt Barry shift comfortably deep down.

He was leaving anyway. No harm done. Was fun while it lasted. You should try it sometime, Dennis. You sure didn’t seem fond of those girls today at the zoo….

So I thought of this.
what if Barry, before Dennis came back to the light because of this boob-incident, had a girlfriend? And what if she knew about the disorder and lived with all of them? I think that would be interesting to read.

Bonus could be: Barry telling her that he thinks something's going on with them after Dennis came back once

Barry/Other prompter here
This sounds lovely! I'd be happy to read something like this. I'd even try writing it, but sadly I don't have enough free time for that.

Beast/Dennis AU or Character Study

Date: 2017-02-19 01:17 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
The way Dennis went onto the train, took his shirt off, it reminded me of someone offering themselves for tribute to a higher cause. Like consensual sacrifice. Back in the days when it would happen, it was considered a very high honor to be sacrificed, and a very spiritual experience for the sacrifice. The way he acted on the train, how reverent he seemed, just reminded me of that. I'd be really hyped for some kind of AU about Dennis giving himself to the Beast, but would also be super happy with a character study of Dennis and his devotion to the Beast.

Introspection on the scenarios in which Dennis and Hedwig initially surfaced. James hints at this in an interview, and am curious to see people's thoughts.

Casey/Kevin(/Dennis) meeting online

Date: 2017-02-22 02:07 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Casey and Kevin bond online through similar interests, but they have no idea how the other looks. Casey develops feelings for Kevin (or at least for his dominant alters) and Kevin definitely has a crush on her, but C doesn't know about his DID. Then she meets Dennis (at a store maybe?) who's everything she has ever wanted - but he sometimes disappears without a word.
So while Casey struggles with choosing one or the other as a boyfriend, Kevin and co. has serious problems with trust - trusting Casey to love them the way they are and trusting Dennis to have the light and make Casey happy.

Casey is a troubled teenager. Her parents are dead, his uncle is abusive (let's make him "only" physically and/or verbally abusive, please), the teachers hate her and her classmates avoid her. She has no friends, and things are not looking up in the future.
Then a mysterious man moves into the neighbouring house/apartment and Casey falls in love on top of all that.

So: teenage angst, home troubles and age difference problems. Possibly a happy end?

Bonus: if there's first time sex
Bonus 2: if Dennis is more nervous about it than Casey

Imagine reader thinking Barry is "the gay leader" because he does have some of the "stereotypical gay" mannerisms, but after some embarrassing interactions (especially in hindsight) finds out Barry's bi/hetero.

Waiting Room (Casey/Kevin)

Date: 2017-03-07 02:15 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Let's say Dr. Fletcher has an office for her patients instead of her apartement - or something like this. There is a waiting room and... Well, Dr. Fletcher's schedule is not well-organized. Ok, it's a total mess. You have to wait sometimes an hour to get to see her even with an appointment (lucky you if you've never had that kind of trouble with an appointment !)

And so there is a waiting room. And Kevin (as well as all the alters) wait there.

And that's how they meet Casey, who finally can get the help she needs with Dr. Fletcher after her traumatic childhood (but not before waiting in the waiting room. With Kevin).

Now seeing how Dr. Fletcher is really bad with her schedule, that could be a one time thing... (but really, we want them to see each other multiple time, don't we?)

Alright, so I'm cherik trash and I'd like to see a crossover. Charles could be one of Kevin's alters, or he could be the original instead of Kevin. Or Erik could fall in love with Kevin, with no mention of Charles. I just want to see Erik having a relationship/crushing on someone with DID.
You can include mutant powers as well, if you want.

Runaway Teenager (Casey/Dennis)

Date: 2017-03-23 09:35 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Casey runs away from home (not for the first time) and finds refuge in the zoo. There, she's found outside by Dennis/Kevin. He accepts to take her in for the night and plans to return her to her guardians after that, imagining he can convince her to let him do so since he believes she's just making a big fuss about nothing by running away. They get to know each other and Dennis/Kevin understands that she's not just another moody teenager.
